I was wanting to get everybody's ider on a problem im having with my 00 camaro...in the mornings and some random days the oil pressure will run 60lbs and no issues and then some days the oil pressure get's down to 20 lbs or below and a lifter starts ticking..but as soon as you give it gas oil pressure goes to about 45lbs and the lifter noise stops...but it's not every day it does it..so i read it could be bearings and i read it could just be a pump....but the engine doesnt lack any power it runs like a stripped *** ape:spank:.....so any ideas that i can start with...i was gunna just go ahead and put a new pump in it...just do it since it's only 30 somthing bucks....but any ideas will help me out..thanks...

maybe your oil presure spring gets stuck open. it regulates the presure and amount of oil to pass though, for instance say its a 40 lb spring, when your oil presure get up to 40lb, the spring opens and lets thought oil to lube the components inside the engine, maybe your gets stuck open there for your oil pump , pumps the oil but since theres no spring there , so there is no presure or i could just be ur oil pump.

Your oil pump is just behind the front cover? Grab a Chilton, it walks you through it.
