So I have no idea why it does this or how to fix it. Basically after the new engine went in, I took it out on the freeway and hammered it. In 3rd Gear (automatic) between 4000 and 5000 RPMs the check engine light flashed at me for a good 30 seconds. After I slowed down for a while it went back off. The dealer said that means there is a bad misfire. So what I did is bought the Accel Coils and the 8.5mm MSD super conductor wires. I assumed the shop changed the plugs when the motor was out. Now the car does it but it doesn't flash as long. It only flashes for maybe 8-10 seconds after I get out of the gas. No clue why it is doing this and its killing my already non-existent top end. Any one have any clues? I think the only thing not new on the motor is the water pump, which the previous owner had the receipt for 20k ago.

Re: Check Engine Flashing Under Load
Check your plugs and make sure your plug wire boots aren't rubbing anywhere. With some exhaust header and plug wire setups, you may have contact between the header and boot. I had this issue and ended up having to do a completely custom wire setup, I haven't had issues since.
And check the codes. There should be a pending code for why it's flashing. If it is indeed a misfire, what I stated above would be the first thing I'd do.aka FreedStyle

Re: Check Engine Flashing Under Load
You can ohm check the injectors should be about 14-20 ohms. But that doesn't mean its not sticking open or closed.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

Re: Check Engine Flashing Under Load
I'll try this stuff, but honestly, everything is new. The motor, upper intake, injectors, Ignition parts, gaskets, and everything is new. Now the spark plugs and injectors could be the cheap brand even though I asked them to put bosch and AC-Delco respectively. I'll have to see. Will sea foam clog new injectors and fuel system or no?

Re: Check Engine Flashing Under Load
My check light turns on sometimes in my remanufactured engine 2000 Camaro.
I would never recommend one of these engines...oil pressure on hot days goes
down so low the light comes on. My light sometimes flashes, sometimes stays
on but usually not for more than 5 minutes...spark plugs have been checked and are okay.
