What is up with V6 Firebird prices?

I've been looking for a 5-speed '93-'95 Firebird for a daily driver as my '98 Trans Am I own is going to be a long and expensive project I have planned. Anyways what in the world is up with V6 prices? Don't get me wrong, I love Firebirds A LOT and hold them to a higher value than the regular car consumer, but is it just me or are people out of their minds on the pricing of them? Most of the ones I see on Craigslist are dang near the prices of full optioned out Trans Ams.

Also does anyone have any suggestions for searching for deals on cars besides Craigslist (or ultimately SearchTempest)?

here in my area they go for 2-4 k working and with problems 0-1k dollars.

I've found ones that are wrecked for over $1,000...that's the messed up part. Especially considering the year range I'm wanting.

Yeah...lol. I mean I'll take some mechanical problems, high miles, cosmetic problems like crappy interior and paint, considering the low price range I'm looking for (and I would think would be easy once again for being '93-'95 5-speed 3.4), but serious structural damage? C'mon...no.
