I've only had my car for a little over a year. When I got it, it ran pretty well even though it had a crack block and possibly a blown head gasket. Now it runs horribly. Instead of tearing the current block apart looking for the problem, I'm going to just replace it. My issue is being able to find another engine for it. My local LKQ has a limited supply of series 2 engines in fire birds, but the front wheel drive cars from GM are all over the place. Will the series 2 from a fwd adapt easily into my firebird? Any help received would be much appreciated!

They're essentially the same engine. A lot of people take the supercharged version (l67) and plop them in and the hard part is modifiying the blower to work. So if youre taking the non sc (l26) it should be pretty simple. I'm sure there's some write ups if you look around the web or some of the v6 forums
