Who has run there car on Acetone to pass the emissions sniffer?

I need to pass the sniffer test to get my on the road this year, and I know for a fact it won't pass idle with the cam that is in it.

I have heard that you can run little gas in the tank and like a gallon or so of acetone in the car to make it run like absolute sh*t, but pass emissions. Before I just start throwing random things in my car and possibly doing damage, who has experience with this? What do I need to know?

    Re: running on acetone

I've read about people using acetone, but its usually about a liter to a full tank of gas. Might be worth a try. I'll be doing my smog test this month but the cam isn't going in till April. I won't have to worry about it for a couple of years. By then they might actually scrap the whole thing like B.C. did. Fingers crossed.

Ive heard both...I don't know the difference, but if you or anyone has experience with either one I would love to know about it. Car will likely be pulled out of storage within the next 2 weeks and needs to be emissions tested before I can get my sticker (current one is now expired)

I have heard of people doing it but I have never tried it.

I need to get mine done to.

Mine gets the OBD2 port,I already know she fails the old test I think the new one will be a breeze.

Thanks for the offer Mike but I will need to send it back to Frost for a retune for my LS2 injectors anyway so I can have him fix it then if it doesn't pass.

BTW do you need a cat? I have an LT1 style cat laying around.

sorry I got tied up. I have a new cat sitting in my trunk so no I don't...thanks though.

New question since I'd like to get the car out and start testing stuff Tuesday, can I safely run the car with 1-2 less injectors and just pull the plug on those cylinders? or do I risk running stupid lean on those cylinders and chipping a piston?

The 02's will just command more fuel.

You probably won't pass anyway,CTC would do a repair on my LT1 for $250.00/$300.00 and give me a conditional.

I had them change my injectors one time and put in new Bosch 02's another time.
I had that POS for 13 years and it never passed:(
