  • reduced engine power, sloppy idle and stall

Okay so I'm leaving school and I drive not even a mile and I notice my throttle is doing absolutely nothing. Push it to the floor and nothing. Slow down and try to go, it stalls. Stay in neutral or park and it idles really funky. So I pulled the codes with my tuner and got 9 of them. I'll post them shortly. But one was the same P0300 misfire I've been trying to fix. Changed all coils, wires, and plugs. So yeah no clue what's wrong.

Could be that your throttle body is done. Is this a 99+ model year car?

Make sure your wires are all nice and tight and connections to the throttle body are good. Make sure you don't have any wires hanging under the car too, you might have a bad ground strap.

Yeah the car is a 2001. I just cleaned it last night. The coolant temp sensor keeps coming off but that's it.

agreed with warshike also with the temp sensor looks like its getting way too much voltage according to the volts. check if you throttle body is getting power that may be the cause . out cars are mainly electrical so you need to diagnose if the part is just out or if there is a electrical problem

Something is wrong with the connection on the coolant temp sensor so it won't stay on. I can't tell if the throttle body is an issue or if the valvetrain finally went out. You floor the throttle and you get a little under 2k rpm. And like zero acceleration.

thats what happened when i had some one do a head gasket job on my bird that was on the original engine , i was going about 80 and had just got it out the shop next thing i know it just shut off and i pulled over on the free way waited 15 min and tried turning it on it did but did some awful ticking noises and tried to move it it would go to 2k and not move at all in drive

You just cleaned it? As in you cleaned the engine bay? With what? Did you use a pressure washer or spray degreaser near the electrical connections or PCM?

I took it off and cleaned both sides with B-12 throttle body cleaner, and I cleaned inside the intake best I could. Afterwards I replaced the gasket with the felpro (only brand anyone had?) and put it all back together. No clue why its behaving like this, it ran well after it was cleaned because it was discussing (weird since the engine has less than 2000 miles). Not sure whats up but it will straight die if you crank it up. Those were the codes. I cleared them and immediately after starting it up with the stock tune, it came back.

could try running with the maf unplugged. its a shot in the dark but worth a try.

Well I took that off along with the throttle body assembly (obviously), but I also used some special MAF Cleaner on it. I made sure everything was plugged back in. The throttle body connection, the MAF, Air temp gauge and the coolant temp sensor. However the coolant temp is having issues staying on the car. IDK why.

I think you misunderstood the suggestion.

You are right I did misunderstand. The car is at the shop right now and I am waiting to hear word tomorrow as to what is going on with it. No clue.

So diagnostics say that the Accelerator pedal was bad.... Is that normal? Anyone have that issue? $520 part at your local Chevrolet dealer.... SMH freakin stupid. Ill know tomorrow if that fixed it.

I think it would be something more than a pedal.
