How do I properly bleed my power steering?

Just changed my pump and I have no idea how to bleed it. I keep on turning it and reving it and it keeps making noise.

Fill the reservoir and then turn the steering wheel from lock to lock several times.

I did that and its still making noise? I did it with the car in the air and on the ground. No clue why its doing that.

My guess would be the pump also.

Depends, what does it sound like? Is the same noise as when the old one went? IS the steering feel mushy? If its mushy you have air in it. If its just a noise the pump is probably bad. Did you check the belt tension?

I just replaced the tensioner with an AC-Delco one and the belt should be tight. I have very light steering feel as of now and I have excessive noise.

On the LS1 you pull the belt and turn the pulley backwards a few times on the ps pump. Might be worth trying.
