What symptoms do our cars have when the ignition module goes bad. (The part under the coils?)

Car totally crapped out on me today. Scanner said cylinder 1 and 4, which makes me think its a coil. However I just put accels on it 2-3 months ago. The car ran much better after swapping them, so something Must have killed it. No clue whats going on.

Hi almost all things in life have a time span, when you put in the new ones and they damage again then you would have something to worry about

1 and 4? Sounds like the coil to me.

        Re: Ignition Module

I am pretty sure the coil is bad because of the cylinders that are dead, I need to know why it went bad in such a short amount of time. In other words, what broke it? I know you can get a bad part, but that seems it would be apparent after you installed it. A coil works or it doesnt, and it doesnt make sense that it would work for 2 months.... Thats what I am confused about.

I always say stock coils are the best.

Accel coils are known to be lousy. Buy stock AC Delco coils, they are much better.

If you want to do a test, swap your coils around and see if the misfire issue moved to other cylinders.

That way you will know if it is the coils or the module.

I bought brand new AC Delco coils when the motor was done, but it had a miss. So what I did was buy the Accels, MSD superconductor wires, and bosch plugs and the bad misfire went away. Now its back and its bad. I have no clue what the suspect is.
