Yeah in south TX. Up here in the panhandle, you're good for a lot more. But you gotta keep an eye out for the DPS mostly and also an eye on the sky as they're doing a lot more aerial monitoring/timing for speeders now.

Honestly haven't taken mine over 100 since I did the new build, really haven't found it necessary.

I did an unofficial 1/4 on my phone app and it recorded a 14.92 @ 87 MPH with an exhaust leak somewhere. (getting that fixed tomorrow)

It's probobly those darn pesky piston rings binding up your cylinders. Get rid of those and you should be able to rev that bad boy up to 9000 RPM.

Haha, dude I can only do that if I put the K&N sticker on my car, then I can rev it to 9k.

Lol. I thought your were going to keep it under 4000 RPM. Now you are running cell phone Quarter Mile runs.

Best of luck with the new engine. You are going to need it.

I was, but I talked to the tech. He told me to just drive it and that it wasnt fragile. He said, as a general rule, most wear occurs on first fire up.

Is your Hypertech tune still on the car?

It was, and then I programmed it back to the factory tune for diagnostics. Small manifold leak. Now that the engine is right, I can tell the difference between factory tune and the premium tune from hypertech. May not be the best one, but the added torque is very obvious.

Hey, trash the new engine and don't pay attention to the detractors...you can always buy another engine if you blow a rod or worse...its only money. Get it up to 120 for 20 minutes, that will tell you if its a good engine or not.

Just a cool side note, I was filling the car up last night and I usually check fluids while its pumping. So I checked the oil and It still looks like you just poured it out of the bottle. about 1100 miles on it so far and that was a surprise to me. No metal flakes, no trash, and no color change. Interesting.

you won't see metal flakes until you change the oil and you have a magnetic drain plug. They aren't flakes, its like ground up liquified metal. If you ever see flakes on your dipstick you're fubar'd

You can see glistening in the drained oil if you look at it right if its a decent amount.
