Hey guys, two questions, I just replaced the drier on my ac because the old one was leaking at the port where you fill it up.
1. I installed the new drier and filled the system with 134a, I went out and checked the hoses for leaks, and I took the cap off the port and i heard some pressure come out as I was unscrewing the cap, and I saw some green dye behind the cap. Put the cap back on and took it off 5 min later, and heard the pressure come out again, but a lot less than before. I saw that the cap had a small gasket inside, which my old one did not, so im wondering if it is normal for it to leak a bit from there? If it isnt suppose to leak from there at all, I dont really see a reason to have a gasket.
2. My car has always drank a bit of coolant ever since I got it, and when I was messing with the ac I started the car, and tried to look for the "marble in a blender" noise that I have had for a long time coming from the front of the engine. I figured it was one of the accessories, but I took my air filter off of the car when running, and it sounded almost like a gurgling sound, think of when you are drinking through a straw and run out of drink.
Im wondering if the throttle body gasket went bad and is leaking coolant into the engine from there? any thoughts on that one? I unplugged a vacuum line from the tb and the sound stopped completely for a few seconds before it started again
