    NOT!

The Amsoil site does not say that.

And NEVER listen to an auto parts store salesperson.

Nevermind! The whine came back after a few hundred miles. But now its a lot quieter and does it only when I turn. How do I get it to shut up like I did just after the install?

          That's just plain WRONG.

That's really strange. How's the oil level? Are there any visible leaks?

I cant see any leak as of last night. I did check the oil level and it was lower than I remember, but I don't see any leaks. I'll check it again though. When I took off the lid to the tank, i did hear a lot of air escape.

That'll happen when it's warm. Those lids contain up to like 18psi then vent pressure, it's nothing to worry about there then. Check your rack, specifically the plastic baffle accordion things on each side of the rack to see if they're accumulating oil inside. If they are, you're gonna need new seals or a new rack.

You are correct, AMSOIL Power Steering fluid is recommended, not ATF.

I am confused as to where I am looking. I just replaced that rack, but its good to be sure its okay.
