  • fuel pump problem!!!!!!!!!!

Okay i was haveing a problem a few weeks ago with my car, what happened was it would cut off wile i was driveing down the road acting like it was out of gas(i have ran out of gas before and it felt the same it was still running but no power all the way to the floor then it would just cut off) then i could wait a little then it would crank up.But it would crank right up when i would go get in my car first thing in the morning to go somewhere then act up like described above. But then it quit after it done it for about 4 days then about a week later, last night i drove home and it done fine and everything then i went to crank it up this morning and nothing but turning over so i tried to prime it and nothing so then i left the key forward and went and hit the pressure check valve thing on the fuel rail and no fuel came out.i checked the fuses and relays to.

could it be a stuffed up fuel filter or is it fuel pump

Do you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the key? It should prime for 3 seconds then shut off

What is the trap door method...some readers like me have no idea what it is. I cannot let the car go with less than a half a tank or I have the noise frm the tank and I lose power.

Start with post # 15. I used a different write up, but this gives you the idea. Otherwise you have to drop the rear axle and remove the fuel tank.

Interesting. How did you discover that's the culprit?

well everything else was in place and looked fine but the one magnet with the broke string was just stuck all the way down and wouldn't rebound back out
