  • Dyno Guess?!?!?!

Okay guys so the last thing I am doing to my car before I sell it (assuming someone buys it) is a race tune from 510 Race engineering here in Houston, Texas. I thought It would be interesting to see what they can muster up out of the car, and I wanted to see what you guys think It'll put down.

So far the things I have that are not stock are as follows....

    K&N Cold Air kit
    Accel 50,000V Coils
    MSD Super Conductor Wires (8.5mm)
    E3 Diamond Fire plugs
    EGR Delete
    Pacesetter Ceramic coated Headers
    Pacesetter Ceramic Coated 3' Y-pipe
    Magnaflow 50-state Cat
    185 Degree thermostat
25% Water 25% Royal Purple "Purple Ice" 50% GM Dexcool
Royal Purple 10w-30 Oil and Filter
    Bored out throttle body

Car is a 2001 3.8L V6 with 3.42's and 4L60E. Thats all I remember, Some suspension mods but shouldn't affect power. What do you guys think she'll put down before and after the tune!?!?

A race tune? Putting more money into the car while your trying to sell it?:twak:
Having said that, put me down for 187hp.

If a race tune implies using race gas I wouldn't do that to a car you're looking to sell.

I would go with 195 - but just a guess. Not a lot to be had out of the na motor on tuning till you've reworked the heads for $$.

96 White M5 Camaro. Manual everything. Magnaflow cat, dynomax dual outlet axle back. Swapped to a disc rear with 3.42s and a torsen differential, kyb gr2 rear shocks, moog rear endlinks.

Would anyone be surprised if we were somehow able to break 200RWHP?

With a performance tune and open longtube headers, I dyno'd 195/225 thru a T5 with 3.23's. Yours will likely be below that.

This Re-manufactured engine only has about 8K on it too. So I am not sure if thats helping or hurting at this point.

This past spring with the ARH angle-milled heads from Z26v6 and an Intense Stage 3 N/A cam, I dyno'd 244/254. I didn't have time to tune it before the open dyno day, so it still had the same tune as before, and this time it also had the true dual exhaust on it instead of just open headers.
