The upper looks good from Rockauto, I've only used the one from ZZP for the lower, so it would be up to you on which to use for the lower. The one from Rockauto says its steel vs. the alm. from ZZP. Whats the price difference? ZZP is $45 plus you'll need RTV and the one from Rockauto looks like it has RTV and some extras.

Thinking about going with the Rockauto one for LIM which its $43, does anyone have experience with that brand?
IF it's Felpro, they're very well known and used by all brands. They also have the updated LIM and UIM pieces, but don't know the part number. ZZP, I never heard of.
ZZPerformance and Intense Racing have been around at least 15 years or more. Both company's offer aftermarket parts for the 3800 engine. Also both company's build and race 3800's.

Felpro has an updated kit for UIM and LIM requires no silicone {use em dry}. Never had a set leak yet I think the set run about 110. You het what you pay for, pricey I think. I do suggest you torque bolts in sequence, flush all that dexcool {dexcool and regular antifreeze cannot be mixed} and maybe read up on bleeding the system if your not familiar.
Do I need to take off the alternator bracket to reach LIM?
You'll be removing the large aluminum water jacket housing that the 2 black rubber hoses go into on the pass side of the engine bay. There's one or two O-rings to replace on it and the infamous plastic coolant elbow that routes from there to the front of the LIM. You may want to wipe a little RTV on the outside of all of the O-rings to make sure everything seals good.
As far as a 100% exchange of coolant, you would have to flush it.
I forgot about those junk plastic things used to speed the assembly line . They don't work but there is a kit that replaces them with metal ones that bolt into the alum water jacket. Got em on my car. As far as coolant goes just get the car up and running then start your flushing process. You might want/need to read up on that too yep it's a dam process too. As far as removing stuff I found the quickest way to do anything is if it's in the way get it gone/remove it. That includes the hood once it's gone lots more room, just make sure and mark its location for reinstall.
Yeah its a tight fit on the passenger side. What water jacket did you break, the one on the tensioner?
