Ok disconect ur battery, drain the coolant by disconecting the hoses to the raiator then. Take off tge radiator suport its 4 bolts next to your air filter lid. Take off your air filter , the lid and the baffle after that lift up on the radiator support tinn it comes off. Next disconnect the wires to the fan take then fans out then pull the radiator up and it comes out , then just put everything back toghether then fill her up with orange colant and bleed out the air.

Re: 1999 Pontiac firebird radiator replacement
Thanks firebird, btw Palm I graduate the ASEP program in two weeks. I simply asked because I don't want to be outside and run into having to discharge the AC system like SI says. I bet you don't even know what SI is

Yeah no need to mess with the A/C system. You should have enough play to get the condenser out of the slots on the radiator.Last edited by ssms5411; 04-20-2014, 08:58 PM.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake
96' Camaro M5 to A4 conversion, alot of mods . GT35R Turbo full suspension. Built engine

Re: 1999 Pontiac firebird radiator replacement
As a graduate of ASEP all you should need for direction on anything is remove old , fix/replace, reinstall . Btw if he cared what SI is he would know. I've seen his build thread, extensive to say the least. Oh sorry, extensive means he knows lots so you lost the bet

Thanks transamtom! I wish I would've seen that before I installed the radiator! And htmabe its funny how people get on here screaming about how much they know, and they'll even have a d*ck rider ( Like you ) to cosign on how much they know. At the end of the day you're supposed to "know" all these things, but never have any answers to the questions asked! Firebirdv6rage, transamtom1, ssms5411 Thank you guys for helping me out, and making sure I had the info to make this a smooth job. Also knowing the purpose of a forum is to help out your fellow f-body owner... Instead of trying get online and make yourself seem like some thing you're not.

I have owned 5 4th gens and one of each engine type 3.4L,3.8L,LT1x2 and of course my current LS1.
My favourites are/were the 3.8L 2001 W68,Y87 Firebird and my 1999 TA.
I daily drove the 2001 for 5 yrs and it was a fun nice car with really low maintenance costs.
I sold it last year and bought a used 2010 Camaro 2SS/RS A6 as my DD it only had 12,000 mikes on it.

Re: 1999 Pontiac firebird radiator replacement
I graduate on the 8th of May... I already work at a Chevy dealership so when I graduate they're going to pay me based off of how much GM Training I've completed ( which is all accept the ASE's ) I really want an 02 SS Camaro, hell i'd settle for a Z28, but that's where my head is at. I can't get down with the newer camaros for some reason or another
