When I put in my Bow Tie Grill, the instructions recommended removing the entire front facia (bumper cover) to get to the bolts holding the grill on. They also said that the stock grill could be pulled out (pulling hard will just rip the nuts off the plastic studs on the stock grill) but that was not recommended.
It seemed like a lot of work to remove the whole bumper cover but I didn't like the idea of just ripping the old grill out so I decided to take apart just one side to see if I could get to the bolts without taking off the whole cover.
It turns out that you can remove just the top and one side of attaching bolts and screws for the bumper cover and then peel back the bumper cover to get enough room to get to the grill bolts. I removed the driver's side bolts to the fender, and the bolts along the top. I think there may have been a few others on the bottom as well, but I left the passenger side intact.
It ended up being real easy and took only about an hour from start to finish with the new grill in. And no damage to the old parts or my car.2002 Camaro Coupe
Navy Blue, A4, Y87
Whisper Lid, Raised Air Box
SLP Bow-Tie Grill, HPP3
