  • Removing steering wheel....how?

I am hearing bad things about airbags and now that my car is 16 years old, I am concerned that the airbag may be one of the recalled bags and if I had an accident it would be a killer. I have a Swiss made Wood steering wheel that I had on an 1985 MR2 and I have a few adapters but wonder if it would fit the Camaro and if adapters are available.

I used a Momo adapter on mine with a Sparco steering wheel. Not hard at all but you'll need a steering wheel puller.

I have a Momo adapter that worked on my Toyota MR2...is the inside diameter going to be the same for the camaro or different...+ is the horn and turn signal working okay with self cancelling ? Thanks

You'll probably need a new adapter, one that's made for 93-02 Fbody. The horn is working well but I have to hold the lever for the drivers side turn signal for it to light up. Passenger side or right side works fine , I think if I break it in more it will work better.

So, U are saying that there is NO standard diameter for the mounting bolt that connects to the steering wheel? Different for each car?

Why don't you just check to see if it is under a recall?

I removed my wheel years ago for the same reason - also they reduced the "explosive" after 1996 as it was determined to be too powerful.

See if you can find a Pontiac 4-SPOKE LEATHER STEERING WHEEL Trans Am 88-91. This is going on in time - replacing the aftermarket Luisi Steering Wheel.

I already have the steering wheel....its a walnut and aluminum wheel I had on a MR2 and after that on a Maxima.
