  • Went to autozone to check SES light

Went there and ran the little scanner thing. It turned out to have two codes, it said that i was running rich on both bank one and two. Guy there said that means that i need two more O2 sensors. Is this probably what i need to do? They charge 60 bucks a peice and i don't want to spend a buck 20 if i don't have to. Please give me input.

check fuel pressure and air filter. look for a problem that will cause a rich condition for the motor as a whole. 02's will not do that...

Yeah i talked to another shop and they said that they think it could be an air leak...do you think that might be right? My filter is brand new, so it isn't that. How do i clean my MAFS.

But I thought dude said it was running rich? Logically speaking if your O2 sensors were foul? As in reading as if there wasn't enough CO2 in the exhuast system, Wouldn't the computer compensate w/more fuel? Man maybe these Heineken's got me thinking out of the box too much. Anywho, new O2 sensors will do wounders any year car!

Cleaning your MAF sensor is cake... all you do is take off the intake where it connects to the throttle body... and w/ the car off spray some intake cleaner up in there and presto... you're done... You could also take off the screen that's infront of the sensor to clean it better. I don't think it'll help w/ the codes... but it'll give you some better throttle response ;)

typically when a maf gets dirty the car runs lean, o2 sensor can make a car run rich but only if it is stuck at low voltage, pull the vacum hose off of the fuel pressure regulator and see if there is fuel coming out of it, ANY EVIDENCE of fuel means that it is leaking and must be replaced.

Which side of the FPR? Cause isn't there a line going in and a line coming out? I asume that you mean the line going out of it towards my engine and what not, not the one that is feeding the unit.
And running rich means that there is to much gas, so why would the computer compensate with more gas?
Why doesn't my computer just put less gas to the motor? It has the ability to do that, and if it senses that there is to much, why doesn't it just change that?
So all i should do is check the FPR and i should be fine...where can i get some intake cleaner, are you talking about the filter recharger, and i am descreened.

PUT THE SCREEN BACK IN, it's there for a reason. Yes the pcm does have the ability to give the eng less fuel but only to a certain point. The line that I am talking about is the vacum line at the fuel pressure regulator...did I mention that you should PUT THE SCREEN BACK IN
