You can do the swap with the same year v8 speedo, but the numbers are going to be off with your tach. You won't get the correct readings and stuff will be off. You can buy things to fix the tach but really all the money you spend on the swap really isn't worth it just for appearance factor.

How many times do you really go over 120mph (that is if you have the speed limiter removed) and still look down at the speedo to see your speed when your going that fast?

Doable, yes, expensive, yes, worth doing, no.

i dont see why you would want one. my car has one(obviously) and its not that special. chances are your car will never go 150 unless you are planning to do alot of motor work.

and the cost like 97rslife said is expensive for something that inst really worth the time and effort.

current car- 95 Trans am- bolt ons, parked and collecting dust. why? because **** it

When I was looking into doing it way back when, I though it just needed some kind of resistor for the tach?

Edit: BTW search is your friend...

Does that Yellow Box also correct the odometer so that it doesn't register more or fewer miles then actually travelled? Does your cruise control still function with this device?

If you want something to show greater speeds, Dakota Digital makes a kit for our cars I think... I don't remember if I saw them or not, but I had one in my Iroc, was a pain to put in, but gave me 255mph, even though I would never see it.
