  • Expensive Wires Not Worth It!

OK, I have now been thru a set of Accel and Taylor wires. Even tho I use a generous amount of Di-Electric G, the damn wire connectors separate at the plug. I had 2 wires from both sets now do this....the only wires that have survived any length of time has been my generic Autozone ones. WTF?

    Anyone else have these problems.

I would not personally consider Accel or Taylor wires "high quality" sets. Accel wires used to be high quality, but in my opinion, they have gone down in quality over the past 6 years or so. Taylor's are not too much better. I have had 2 sets of Thundervolt wiresets for LS1's crap out on me. I have yet to have any problems with MSD wires. They are, in my opinion, very high quality.

I've had two Taylor wires fail internally on me... I'll never buy Taylor wires again.

I'm another happy AC Delco plug wire user! ;)

How are you pulling the boots off the plugs?

Nah... jsut figured they are thicker then generic OEM replacements but no too expensive...

Just a little addition to above...

Just because the wire is thicker does not make it better. You need to concentrate on the resistance per foot of the wire to determine what is the highest quality.

I grab them on the wire about 6 inches back from the boot and yank.....seriously, I have a boot puller (looks like a funky needle nose pliers).

I have taylors... They are fairly low resistance, but maybe not the VERY BEST. But for the price, they work. I guess just be more careful assembling them...

My fuel lights up every time....
