    Window problem

    Stupid pos f-body window motors!! Just got both replaced last summer and now drivers side motor decides to die today. Was rolling window up and it just died half way.

    Figured it might be a bad switch so i took one from the camaro for a sec to try out. Thats not the problem. Wiring is all good but window is stuck half way up.

    Does anyone know how to manualy pull up the window? what do i have to loosen? I had to do it last time but cant remember how

    did you try slamming the door? i had to do that in my s-10. or i would just let it sit for like 2 minutes and it would work again lol.

      I tried basically everything. Got the door apart now so im just gonna mess with stuff. When window went bad first time i either had to shake window back and forth or wait like 2 mins then it would go up slightly and repeat.

      But now it wont even move an inch just sits there. Any way to just pull it up manually i dont just wanna yank the window out

      LoL friend said to f*ck it lets just take the doors off and drive around like rednecks....Why not wranglers and ups trucks do it :D

        I know you tried the different switch but did you try actually cleaning the copper connections?

        My bro has a chevy tahoe... His window motor wasn't working so he replaced it... it still didn't work... ended up just being dirty connections.

        Mine was almost dead so just incase I cleaned the connections. It's a 1997... and after I got done I had basically turned the heads of about 4 que-tip ends dirty brown.... I just used alcohol and cue tips.

        You might want to try that before you buy a new motor again.

          Well got it all figured out. Its 100% the window motor. Tested plug and it had power going to the window motor. Took motor out and tested it but it failed horribly.

          Sad thing is that the motor is about a year old and it sat for 4 months!!!!

            you might need to make sure that the window is not binding. That can cause premature failure due to it having to work a lot harder. you can adjust it to let it move more free
