  • jet stage 2 chip?

does anyone have the jet stage 2 chip? and did u notice alot of difference in the car? how much did u pay for it ? was it worth that amount ?

  • #2
the jet chips ARE NOT worth the money IMO
the give u minimal gains and have very generic tuning....
for the money, give Texas Speed a call they can tune your pcm for about $300 and give u better #s than the jet chip. also they can tune things like top-speed limiter delete, tire, gear changes, along with tuning for future or current mods.

even better, buy the HPTuners software, although u have to upgrade to a 97 pcm (i think) it is well worth the money u can custome tune your computer anytime you want from your laptop or PC

have to argue with you on that. a reprogram is much more custmizable than a jet chip. jet chip is jet chip, where as fastchip reprogram, you can get them to change shift points, correct spedo, and get a overall better tune.

Well look at it this way either you can get a custom tune and pay 300 dollars or wait for awhile and get a jet stage 2 on ebay for 100. Yes custom is better but only until you mod more. If you plan on doing mods like gears and such wait to get a custom tune but if you only plan on doing exhaust and itake and other small bolt-ons then jet stage 2 will be fine if you can find it for cheep.

I have a jet stage 2 chip waiting to be intalled (just to cold out to put the 160 thermo in yet). I got it for 80 bucks from someone from this site. One day I will prolly have custome tune but the jet stage 2 is good enough for me for now.

I have a jet chip. Haven't had it installed in over 2 years.

Pretty sure it had less power than stock. And it screwed up my tranny. STAY AWAY.

If you want to mess with your computer buy HPtuners. 1000X better than any chip.

Us 3.4 guys are s.o.l. with tuners no one makes them for us and only two companies make chips for us and that's jet and fastchips.
