• Funny sound from rear in turns...

I've had this problem for a while but it never seems to have gotten any worse or affected drivability at all. So here's what happens, whenever I slow down a lot to make a sharp turn (90* turn) I hear a faint kind of repetitive thumping from the rear end. It seems to have always been there since I had all my aftermarket suspension stuff installed. Could there be something lose and rattling around or what? I'm not to familiar with suspension maintanence so I'm not sure what to look for.

LSD, this is a known issue with the Zexel Torsen units in the later models.

Torque sensing differentials make annoying nuisance noises.

Yup, I have it too, that's what I've been told.

Is something wrong with my LSD for it to make that noise or should I not worry about it. My car only has about 6 months left of warranty, so I'd rather get it fixed now if it needs repair.

If you have a warranty by all means get it checked out to be sure nothing is wrong. If you get a new rear end that would be awesome.

When mine started clunking I took it to a transmission place (my warranty was over with) to get the rear end fluid changed and the differential inspected. They said it was fine, just that it would be annoying.

Same here, it's been to the dealer twice and Fbody Central in MD once. It just seems to be a peculiar characteristic of this unit. It's annoying as **** but doesn't appear to be getting worse or causing any other problems.

I just had to replace my rear axle because I "didn't think it was a big deal" ANY sound from back there is bad. I would get it checked asap.

                  ^^ http://www.fbodycentral.com/phpws/ <they're in baltimore actually.

Have you gotten under the car yet and checked out the suspension and stuff? Check your bushings and suspension parts to see if everything is tight and secure. If not, take it to the dealer by all means while you still have a warranty left. Heck, I'd do that anyways just to make sure you milk all you can out of the warranty.

If it is the torsen posi unit clunking it is NOT a big deal, this is well documented in many places. But it should be checked just to be sure.

What AlienInv8r said. Great outfit, nice guys, place is packed with nothing but f-bodies, including some race only machines they're working on. Jason said they've been looking for someone with a 6 for them to work on if anyone is interested.

Sorry for the off-topic response guys!
