    Completed list of mods... 10K???

    Well, after a few months of detailed research and A LOT of shopping on various websites, catalogs etc. I have finally completed my wish list of mods. I'm starting with a bone stock 2001 V6, A4. Definitely not trying to build a strip car but a decent cruiser that can spank ricers and the occasional Stang. Here's an abbreviated version:

    CAI and Whisper Lid
    Borla exhaust
    SLP 1.8 rocker arm kit
    180* thermo and fan switch
    MSD DIS4 Ignition, MSD wires, NGK plugs
    HPP3 re-progammer
    All suspension and chassis mods
    Upgrade brakes and rotors
    New tires
    SS hood and rear spoiler
    Misc. exterior dress-up
    Misc. interior dress-up
    Upgrade sound system

    I also accounted for shipping and unforeseen extras etc. I'll be installing everything myself and also will paint my own hood and spoiler.

    Anyway, I came up with a grand total of $9900

    So I just rounded up to 10K.. Jeeezzz, guess I better put in for some overtime huh?? Anybody with similar mods come up with the same or am I too high?? too low??

        why borla? very expensive even thru wholesale.

          I don't want a loud obnoxious exhaust and I have narrowed my choices down to Borla or B&B TriFlow as the only decent sounding exhaust on the V-6 without sounding too ricey. Expensive yes, but worth it in my opinion...

            when i compiled a wishlist for my car a few months ago, it came out to be around $25k... yeah, that's not going to happen.

                Yeah.. I know what you mean j_downey50.

                I may want NOS, a cam, a stronger transmission and also a differential.. that would almost double it for sure...

                      Ya Viper how do you afford all that on a military salary ;) I hope I don't spend all my pay like you do once I'm in :-P

                          Gotta love hazardous duty pay and combat pay for sure.. It adds up quick when you can't spend any money because there's no phucking place to spend it in Iraq... Bank account gets fat pretty quick huh?

                          I went to the first Gulf War and raked in the cash.. as long as you can survive and get out of there in one piece!!

                          Hmmmm.... now that's an idea!! One year in Iraq would pay for all my mods for sure.. See Ya!!

                              well how fast are you looking to go?
                              throw out all the exterior and dress up stuff, and stereo stuff....

                              heh, for ~750 in mods i went 14.6... I'd hate to see what would happen if i had 10 grand [img]tongue.gif[/img]
