How hard is the waterpump to change and are there any tricks I should know before doing it to make life easier?

Also, do I have any options as far as electrics?

The water pump has got to be the easiest thing to do on our car. You just take the serpentine belt off, and unscrew the waterpump. Then scrape the gasket off, and put the new gasket on, and new water pump on and the serpentine belt back on. It was the first thing I ever did to my car, and I didn't know what the hell I was doing and only took me like 30 minutes.

And welcome to the board

You can purchase an electric remote mount water pump and reroute the houses and temp stat or by pass the temp stat for a better electronic controlled temp controller that you can preset at any temperature that you choose.
It takes a little bit of work since you have to get the hoses and all but some companies sell kits for this sort of thing. It will free up a descent amount of H.P/torque and allow better cooling of your car overall. Just takes a little while to change the hoses but it's not that hard and most companies will walk you through the process if you call there tech support line or you could have a mechanic do it for a little bit of money. Should cost more then 125 and that includes any mounting for the pump and the relocation of the hoses and installation of the temp controller. Good luck. Feel free to ask any questions if you need any help or have any other questions related to the topic. You can post on here or email me at skullcamaro@aol.com
