  • SES Light

Well anyways i have had my SES light on for some time now and here is the thing. Got it checked out and it said that i was running rich on bank one and two (already said all of this stuff). Anyways the light comes on and off as it pleases, usally stays on for a couple of days and then goes off for a couple of days. I haven't done any new mods for like 6 months so i don't think it is that. Any ideas of what it is, and is it bad to run my engine like this. Doesn't really matter cause i am loosing my licence for a couple of months, but i still want my car to run fine.

my car's SES light has been giving me worries too. as it turns out a previous owner tampered with the ECU and wiring in the car(i have mentioned this a few times before). it was misfiring and the SES light was always on. if i filled it with high octane it would stop for a while and the light would go off but not for long. a dealership replaced my 02 sensor and it stopped the misfiring but the light is still on every now and again. the bad thing is that i dont know if something is wrong or not (the ecu damage might cause it to send bad signals). i try not to worry too much as i dont plan to put too much work into my car anyways. i hope that helps.... (did i even address the question?? :D

Well i bought my car brand new so it probably isn't anything like that. I am just wondering why it would say that it is running rich on banks one and two but it goes on and off, not depending on how i am driving the car.

How many miles? Have you changed plugs/wires recently?
