  • squeaking sound coming from hatch/rear area

Anyone else have this? It is a distinct squeak. Not very loud, but definately noticeable. It happens when I go over a small bump or something like that but I know for a fact it is not my shocks/struts.

Check the spare and the jack. You'll get an annoying high pitched squeak if those are loose or rubbing.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

Check spare, jack, little rubber screw type things on the hatch, and maybe wrap the actual hitch on the hatch in electrical tape, I have had all sqeuk on me.

Check the back seat, mine squeaked so I pulled them down bunched up a towel and squashed it in between the seat backs and the car. It gave enough pressure to stop the latch on the seat from squeaking.

I had the same darn thing and it was the spare tire being shifted out of a vertical position to a leaning on the side of the car position. The rubber of the tire was squeeking going over bumps. Just reposition it and tiughten it up!

if i put WD-40 on my trunk struts and on the trunk latch it would clear my problems up

I had to do a tire change one time a looong time ago and didn't put my jack and spare back in properly after the fix. GOD, what a squeak that came from the tail end of my car when ever I went over bumps. Make sure that everything's back where it's supposed to be and down tight in the spare area...including the moldings that cover them.
