• Sweet going to do my first oil change...

haha this is funny, I have changed more clutches, transmissions, and rear ends on my car then I have changed the oil.

So from the looks of my search, 5 quarts, and PF52(longer filter)

I had free oil changes until 6 years, 90k miles from dealer, unfortuneately I hit 6 years.

            hey serious question though...

I did a quick search and it said.

            normal filter PF47, 4.5 quarts.

longer filter PF52, and you use the full 5 quarts.

            any final confirmation.

don't worry Matt I'll be sure to give you a call if I need a hand.

BTW, ever going to do a clutch?

I believe I got the right one, the 52 instead of a 47 and when you old them side by side they are the same size just one is longer.

You are correct eric. With the 52 over the 47, you will be able to hold extra oil. 5 quarts will do it.

just eyeballing it, looks liek it holds a full half quart more anyways...

i know its funny. I mean I have done dozens of oil changes and stuff, hell actually done oil changes on other people's cars.

Just never did one on my 3.8L. People told me I shoudl do it but hey, I didn't have to get dirty, and its free. Can't beat free.

Not sure about the 3.8, but on my 3.4 the oil filter is a bit tough get out. I have to twist and turn it a few different ways, and I always dump oil down my right arm. I now have a FB-oil-changing-sweatshirt with one black arm. :D

Kind of makes Eric look smart for NOT changing his own oil.
