  • Water leaking rear passenger side, please help

First interior problem of this year, or ever since owning the car.

I thought I was leaving frozen food in my back passenger side foot space on the floor. I usually leave things back there. Today I went out and it was wet, not just a little but a lot. It had rained a few days ago and car was left parked. Parked on a slight uphill. This leak is right behind the passenger seat, where the floormat would go (and that's it).

I had this happen before and didn't think it was anything big. Doesn't seem to do it when it is washed, just when it rains (from what I can tell). I did put new rubber bumpers on the rear of the hatch to stop it making noises.

I am lost and dunno where to go or look. I don't use my AC. I read about an evap tube, but i didnt think that was a issue.

Please, let me know what could be causing the problems I am having witht he mystery leak?

My '98 has started doing this in the past few months.

I can see where it leaks, when I take it through a high pressure drive-through car wash. It comes in at the top of the window, towards the back. It's right where there is a seam, or a break, in the rubber seal between the t-top, the door frame, and the window.

I've found water in the floorboard a time or two this spring with all the rain. Usually when it's been parked just a little uphill... I think the water runs back to that gap at the rear of the t-top.
