I've seen them for the V8's, but I have no idea what it does (besides pump air...duh).

Only reason I ask is because I've never seen them offered on our V6's before.

It just pumps air into the cat. With more fresh air, the cat is more efficient in reducing emissions.

3.8s don't have them, but 3.4s do.

its main reason is to heat the cats quicker, which like was said before, cuts emissions.
