I have a 1999 camaro, sorry but its a v-6, i bought it used so i dont know the history on it. 90,000 miles....It seems to have a really rough idle SOMETIMES when you start it up after siting over night, usually lasts about 45 seconds, then totally goes away WHEN this happens it will trigger the service engine soon light. The day after i bought it i replaced all spark plugs, wires, coils x3, fuel filter, air filter, took off and cleaned throttle body. Also when the engine is idleing it does not run as smooth as i think it could be, it is fairly smooth, jest not as smooth as i think is should be. Ive had the car for about a month, i finly got up and bought a used scanner $500 on ebay. It tells me cylinder 3 and cylinder 1 are missfiring, with the main one being #3. Scanner shows #3 as around 4500, as i recall, missfires, and #1 as around 200 missfires. I jest replaced both fuel injectors and problem still there, im lost, no one seems to be able to help.

thats what mines doing! after it sits all night, it starts up and runs like SH*T bigtime. except mine stays like that for a long time. and while driving it sputters, shakes, and smells like a tank of gas. then after driving it for a while, after a random number of restarts, it will stop, and be gone for the rest of the day. today, i even thought one of my $50 MSD coils was bad, so i replaced it with a $20 advance autoparts brand one... didnt fix it. now i have a ****ty coil along with 2 good ones and the problem is STILL there! my plugs and wires arent very old either. someone help us!

Well.. ill tell you this, thats what mine does, after you turn it on and off 3 or 4 times it sometimes goes away, but usually after ABOUT a minute it will some what go way...and im happy im not the only one with this problem. Lucky for me i save most of my used parts. Dont waste your money on fuel injectors like me, thats not the problem.

Have you bothered to do a compression test on the cylinders in question or do you just assume that a misfire is caused by no spark or a fuel injector not working properly?

Mine has the same hesitation (real bad for about 45 seconds) when I step on the gas in the morning. It started happening once I changed my fuel injectors (I had a dead cylinder). But, I'm not reading any codes. Someone told me it could be the wiring harness for the fuel injectors, but I've yet to replace it.

Hmm,yeah, thats a good idea, last time mine was doing it, it was in the drive way and i was able to pull the wire off the coil and it had a good looking spark, guess next time it does it ill shake the injector wire. THANKS!!!
