How hard is it to pull a 3.8 out. Does all the computer stuff need to come out with it or what?

You can unplug all the sensors. Why are you doing that?

I was think that it would be easier to buy an engine and trans setup and work on that while it is out of the car. and that way i will still have a car to drive. Also i have almost 90000 miles on it and i want to buy on with less milage.

Are all the 3.8 the same from 93-2002?

nope....3.8 are from mid-95 to 2002. They are all the same except for the small fact that 95-97 I believe, have an angled throttle body ot the intake and the newer ones have a straight one. Ther than that it's all good. You could but a newer one and then used your old throttle body I believe.

The Super six package is just the heads and a cam if you want one. Not a whole new engine. I'm not sure If you can get a new intake from them, if so, I bet you can chose.

Actually, if this is of any help, the mid 95-98 3.8's had the angled throttle body that was controlled by a cable attached to the gas pedal. In 99-up 3.8's the throttle body is straight but its also computer controlled instead of cable controlled so I dont know if you can use a throttle body from the newer ones. Im almost positive this info is correct.

My question is, if you are going to build or buy an engine/tranny, they why not go with an LT1 or LS1...

With the money i can save from paying insurance for me i can make it as fast as an 8. And also the v6's are cheaper to buy.

Actually, the insurance on your car is based on the VIN, which will not change just because you swap engines. Also it will cost a Hellofa lot more to buy and build a V6 up to say 300 hp than it would an LT1.

Yea but if you get a V6 camaro than swap a LT1 into it you would have to notify your insurance company of the changes. If not they may denie your claim if you had an accident or something.

I've read also that the T5 manual won't work with the v8's so you will have to switch to the 6 speed or the automatic, and the computer needs to be changed along with other various and sundy items.
