  • Airbag question

I replaced the airbags in my 97 camaro rs along with a new dash. The control modular that came with them are i'm guessing out of a 98+ camaro and is different from the one in my 97. The plug on the pass airbag was different also, so I had to cut and splice my old plug in there. My question is, is my old modular still good, or is once the bags are blown, the modular is blown also? Second, my airbag light is still on, is it because no modular is plugged in, and is there anyway i could get that light off til i can find the right modular? And last, is there any other years compatible for the 97 one, or do I have to find strictly a 97 one only? Hope someone can help. Thanks

Something like an airbag you might want to take in to a dealer. Safty is not something one should guess on. I would just let a pro with the right tools do it right. Thats my .02 anyway.

I really must agree that you should take it somewhere and make sure it's all hooked up right. You don't want them things going off while you are cruising down the highway do you?
