  • ford's 3.8 question

    lol yeh,

basically problem: idles at 1000 rpm... not normal.
Whistling sound from the engine... apparently vaacum leak somewhere.

The question is: how to track down vaacum leaks? It's very hard to tell where the noise is coming from and all connections seem to be snug.

Also, when belt is slipping (brand new Gator back), how do identify which pulley is broken? I'm thinking idler pulley but is there any particual way to check pulleys?

    Thnx!

if the motor has a loud whistle I would suspect the IAC. it;s a common issue with them.

as for the belt.. check the tentioner. it could be weak and alowing it to slip
