  • changed coil now car is dead

    I had a bad coil pack so i replaced all three and now my car will not start. It cranks fine but wont start. I have no fuel or spark at the plugs, Is their a anti theft or something that it am not aware of? The security light is not on either. :mad: :mad: :mad:

        Im having somewhat of the same problem. i picked up my car last night from the shop. i got a new alternator and battery. it started up fine and i drove it home. this morning i couldnt get it to start. it turns over fine, but wont start. i popped the hood an noticed that the manifold on the driverside was wet as were the coils(it was pouring all night). could it be the coils? im really pissed off considering i just got it back.Anybody have any ideas of what the problem could be?

              check the front of the motor to see if you unhooked any sensors, particularly crank sensor.. (I'm pretty sure that's where it's at) something has got to be either disconnected either that or maybe recheck the wires to make sure they are hooked to the right plugs..

                I pulled every fuse in the car and none are blown.The plug wires are in the right spot because i numbered them before i took them off. The crank sensor i am not sure about i will have to check.

                    i would bet a lot of money that it is your crank shaft sensor, my car did the same thing, finially i caught it doing it and we had the scanner hooked up to it, yeah definilty crank shaft sensor

                      Do you have your old coils still?? If so try putting them back on and see what happens.


                      If you aren't getting fuel then your problem isn't with the ignition.

                      I don't know about the whole Crank Position Sensor theory. Changing coils is not hard, I can't see you damaging the CPS from just changing coil packs.

                      I guess it wouldn't hurt to check it though.

                      Also, I would try replacing the fuel pump fuse and any others regarding the ignition. I have looked at a fuse before and it looked OK, but it was shot.

                        Its strange because i don't have fuel or ignition.

                        The crank sensor is fine i checked that.

                        I have put on three differant sets of coils thru this process with the same result.

                        i have power to the harness that connects to the coil pack but it stops there. Is there something in the base itself that can go bad?

                        Does anyone know if there is some kind of security device that i could have tripped while changing the coils that would stop fuel and spark that doesn't make the security light come on?

                        I tried autotap but it is not showing me a dtc's, but i am very new at using it is there something i can look at specifically on autotap that could help?
