  • 97 -> 98 PCM

    Is there any difference in the 97 and 98 PCM besides the programming. I was able to get a 97 PCM for cheap and just assumed it would work. I have a 98 Y87 VIN so I can goto the dealer and get them to flash it for when I install my 3.42's soon but don't know if you can flash a 97 PCM to a 98 program. Thanks.

      Check the pinouts listed in the tech section, and see if they are wired the same...? That's the only thing I know to add to this.

      Also it seems like Magnus did some sort of year swap with PCM's too, a search in the Advanced forum might turn something up.

        I think the '97-'98 is a diff. Like I have a '97 you can not chip these but you can flash, '98 is chipable. or Hypertech makes a power programmer for yours also
