it performs great but just been messing with the shift points. k like i was todl earlier i could bump the rev limiter up past six so i put it at 6200. then messed with the shift points i think i put plus 3 on 1-2 and + 4 on 2-3 and both of them hit the rev limiter only problem was that it did so at about 5700 and not even 6000. has anyone had this prob before. any suggestion or comments that could help?

Before you go changing shiftpoints, did it work normally?
Try changing them one step at a time too, and dont mess with the rev limiter unless its hitting it.
3 points up is a lot according to the manual.2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

How did you determine the rpm at which you hit the rev limiter? If you were watching the tach, there is a couple hundred rpms of lag at WOT. I think you should try reducing the mph a little bit so that it doesn't bounce.
Looking in my manual...
5700RPM comes at ~41.6mph in 1st, and about ~78.1mph in 2nd. I don't know about the stock 1-2 shift, but I had heard before that the 2-3 is set to 78mph from the factory. I don't know if this is right or not, but if that is the case, than +4 mph would mean that the car is shifting at 5986RPM, assuming stock tire height.
I haven't tried to use this feature... when you go to modify the shift points, does it say what mph the stock shift points are? I'd really like to know that information.
Mymanual doesn't say anything about what is a a lot of shift point adjustment.Matt
2000 Firebird

FullThrottleV6.com

its doesnt say it just tells you to get it within 100 rpm of the rev limiter and it doesnt tell you how fast it shifts at it just adds a couple to the shift to hit the rev limiter hense the plus 1 or 2 and suchno fate but what we make
http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/748167/1

Ok, if you really want to mess with it, I'd suggest setting the rev limiter to 6200, then adjusting the 1-2 to +1. If you get faster and it doesn't bounce off the limiter, try +2... repeat as necessary, then do the 2-3. I don't think you will get much mph out of first gear, so maybe just try +1. I think 2-3 is more important anyway, cause our cars aren't too quick in third without serious mods.Matt
2000 Firebird

FullThrottleV6.com
