  • Whistling Goodyear Gatorback?

Not too long ago i replaced the drivebelt on my Camaro with the Goodyear Gatorback i bought at an auto part store. After i installed the new belt i took notice to a whistling sound coming from the engine. The sound becomes louder as the engine revs higher.
Is this normal for the Gatorback?
I know i bought the right belt, i compared it to the old one and both were the same size.
I also know i have have the belt on the right way.
I don't know what it could be other than the way the grooves are designed on the belt.

yes the gatorback has a whistle to it. it will go away after you put a little bit of wear on it. so yes, it is normal.

I replaced the old drivebelt with the Gatorback about 2 months ago and since then i have put at least a good 3,000 miles on my car.
How long until the whistling stops?
I'm not sure i understand why the whistling goes away after some wear is put on the belt. If it still does it after 3,000 miles won't it still make that noise another 3,000 miles from now?
