is that the right part # off of Jegs for a 160* thermo? Do you prefer the 160* or 180*?

dont know the part number. if you have a 99 or above i beleive, your stock thermo is 180 so get a 160. if you haver below a 99, your stock thermo is 195 so get a 180.

Ok...I don't want to say this anymore
My 2002...read that again...2002 firebird came with 195 stat.
If you want to know what yours is...take your thermostat out (takes 5 minutes) look at the bottom of it and it will say what it is.
I got 180 from ZZP ....they're good people

I hear that with the 160* it will do some funny things and might be the need of some tweaking of the computer

I am pretty sure that 195º was always stock. I would recommend going with the 180º. I am not sure why you are ordering from Jeg's, but if you don't know the thermostats are available at local part stores like AutoZone.

I will also agree....my buddy swapped a 160 into his 2002 Camaro, and his stocker was 195.

The engine tech page is helpful, but it is not the camaro bible. **Don't believe everything you read on the internet**

My stock one is 180*, but I have the Y87 package so that might have something to do with it.
