Just posting to tell you guys about my 1997 v6 firebird with 36,137 miles on it. Stored winters, the whole jazz. I work for Roush racing now, so I took the bird in to do a bit of work on her. She is now running with a LT1 5.7L v8. I pulled the v6 and swapped to the v8. I was gonna use the gtp supercharger setup on the v6, but found there to be too much fabrication work involved. The v8 took me 5 hours to get in and all hooked up. Then spent another 4 after a 2 day wait doing the wiring mods (to make a v8 engine harness compatible with a v6 body harness) fill fluids, bleed brakes...ect. She is now very fast, but still have not driven her home :( . Still waiting on the borla cat back exhaust to arrive. If you are considering doing a sway and have questions, let me know I'd be glad to help.

Now you'll really have fun. The thing is, once you get a V8 and a lot of power, you will want more power all the time. Get all the bolt ons, then a blower.2003 Nissan 350Z Touring Coupe, Daytona Blue, Frost leather interior, navigation, 18 inch wheels, M6, fully loaded, intake, crank pulley.

Previous cars:
1991 Mustang (347)
2002 RS Camaro
1985 IROC-Z (305)
1994 Camaro convertible V6

Well, best bet is to get the motor, trans, engine harness, and pcm as a package off e-bay. Parts needed to make it work, and what I spent....
1. driveshaft - $0 from friend
2. k-member - $100 Scrap yard
3. some wiring mods - $0 splice some things..easy
4. airbox - $204 K&N cold air intake kit
5. y-pipe - $200 slp headers and y-pipe..from driveshaft friend..
6. catback exhaust system - $550 tunable borla cat back system ( Roush Racing discount helped lower that from $740.99 )
7. convert v6 instrument cluster to v8 - $125
8. WS6 take off springs and shocks - $135
9. Fuel pump sending unit - $10 from friend
10. Radiator - $110 with trade in of old one.
11. Throttle cable - $13 with gm employee discount...hook ups rule!!
12. AC components..no price yet...will be sorting that out soon... I know you'll need an accumulator, a line and an evap core.
Engine, trans, all belt driven accesories, wiring harness and pcm cost me $2499.00 after shipping. It came with a buttload of extras. Easy swap not too difficult if ya have the right tools, and access to a hoist. My differential was already set up with a 3:73 limited slip from a previous project. So, that is the basics of parts and costs that I can remember
