Let see, since I bought the car with 62,000 miles on it and it not has 96,000. I have had the following repairs/problems.

O2 sensors replaced twice, spark plugs and wires replaced.
Stock catalytic converter
stock Muffler replaced due to hole from some road junk in a construction site
transmission, flywheel, etc(covered under extended warranty)
fuel filter, once
air filter, once
pinion seal on rear axle leak and now some other problem with the pinion seal
Rear mail seal leak, oil pump seal leak
Stock 2 piece driveshaft replaced with 1LE aluminum D.S. (just for weight reduction)
stock alternator died and then replaced with high amp alternator
drive belt worn and replaced, once
rotors and pads worn/warped many times
Battery went dead because of defective battery
Tranny mount needs to be replaced.

Overall these cars are very reliable, it has never left be stranded and even though some of these repairs were expensive (rear main seal) I still love the car and the way it handles/performs. They are definantly reliable and overall a good car to have. I've driven through a 8 inches of snow without to much problems. The car is good but things break with age and I sometimes drive the car hard so I expect that sooner or later things will break. Most of the problems I have had came right after I bough the car probably because of the previous owner, etc. I take great car of my car and always do regular maintenance and plan on keeping this car a long time because I know it can take the punishment and keep going and asking for more. Even after the old lady hit my car it was still in great condition and had minimal problems that were easily tweaked out. Great car but how well you take car of it and the way you drive it always matters. Most of the stuff is just regular maintenance repairs nothing more nothing less.

98 with 46k got it a year ago with 35k.. thus far

plugs and wires due to crappy oem's
rear main leaking like everyone else's
pinion leak like everyone else
it's about time for some new shock absorbers but I ain't got $300
muffler has a small hole rusted in it.. (should last another year)
either my frame is bent or the springs have collapsed or something has causeed the driver side front to have negative camber(leaned in) and the adjustment is bottomed out... (it's very small but the negative camber is there I think it's about a half a degree)
I have an intermittent leak under the passenger side dash that seems to have resealed itself.
tint needs to be redone
replaced the crappy stock tranny mount even though it wasn't broke (yet)

I do want to say something though. If you look at the cost of driving and maintaining our cars and the cost of "high dollar" exotic sports cars then what we pay and what we put up with is nothing.
-Brad
98 Firebird - gone from mod mode to keep it running and useable mode.

I've had mine since 110000 and now its at 121000. I bought it knowing it needed a rearend rebuild. I now need a new clutch and to my knowledge, the original was replaced at about 60000. The tranny also makes some noise while the clutch is depressed and it is in gear. Otherwise, my car as been great so fa, knock on wood.

Just rolled over 56,000.

I bought it with 38K almost 2 years ago. Its a 96. The person that had it before me never drove it

Here is what I have done to it:

New tires (Potenza RE910s yippee!)
New battery (interstate woohoo!)
headlight motor (I had had it for like a week so the dealer that I bought it from fixed it for free)

I have had one major problem though...PEOPLE KEEP RUNNING INTO ME!!!!!!!!!!! I swear, my car is like a magnet for other cars! It has been hit three, count 'em, three times since I bought it!

100,800. Nothing big I don't think. Just had both window motors replaced, and the transmission was replaced a while back.

Your birds are just babies. I have a 94 firebird with 197,000 miles on it. I have had some problems, but i still love my girl. I've had to rebuild the tranny, alternator went out, water pump went out, neutral safety switch went bad. and that's all. my car is an engineering freak. she was loved when they built her and she's loved now. i still get compliments that it looks brand new and it just makes it that much better when people stop and turn around when she roars by. I love my f-body and even though GM felt it was necessary to kill off the most beautiful line of cars in history, there will never be a time that I won't own one. Sorry if this is all mystical and stuff, but i can't help it. I love my car as I'm sure all of you do. OK, i'm done.
