  • How much for dealer to replace window motor?

My driver's side window motor began wearing out recently. The dealer replaced it free under my GMPP extended warranty.

I'm just wondering what a GM dealer would charge for this repair if you pay for it yourself.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

Bring lots of vasaline with you. Anything/everything cost's more at a dealer, especially with installation. You're better off buying a motor from autozone and getting a shop to install it. It will probably save you $150.00 or MORE by going that route.

          ^what he said

I replaced both of my window motors using the guide in there took me about an hour and 1/2. Just follow it step by step and you can't screw up. The hardest part to do is drill out the rivits that are holding the stock motor in and its pretty much down hill from there.

Yup, I did one of mine before breakfast one day. They're right, about an hour start to finish.

Assuming you don't have the extended warenty, what kind of warenty is on these? My passenger side one is going out and needs replacement.

my dealer charges close to 300$....it'll take a tech maybee 10-15 mins to pull the car in, get the motor from parts install it, and park the car again....takes me about 15 mins to do the job myself

My dealer wanted $270 for one window. So I did it myself with a $60 motor and a few hours of work. I bet if I did it again, I'd be done in 20 mins.
