  • Is it bad to run 92 octaine all the time?

I always use it, because it's only a couple bucks more a tank, and i only want the best for my car, i just don't want to be doing damage to it. Is it ok?

The money that you're discarding could probably be put to better use elsewhere on your car.

I use it too. It's probably not needed, but it seems to go further. When you get into mods with the potential to cause more than mild detonation you might want to consider it.

Octane is just resistance to detonation.

You don't need it and it doesn't really do anything unless you are running forced induction or other mods that would cause detonation.

ya if your cars stock run 87 octane I think it'll actually be better for it...

Your just wasting your money unless you have your car modded or are running Nitrous, supercharger, turbocharger, etc. The higher octane reduces detonation in those instances but if your car is basically stock then regular 87 octane is fine and is what is recommended for our cars, the higher octane won't hurt the car but it is just wasting some extra cash, its your choice though. I usually run 89 octane because I have some mods and it appears that my car tends to run better with it. Each car is a different but its your choice and you know your car better. I'm just letting you know that it won't hurt it but if the car is basically stock its just wasting the extra cash that you could be saving for other things. Hope this helps.

Run a search, this was talked about not to long ago. Skull is right though, it is a waste of money.
