I took my 99 camaro to autozone to use there scanner. And I got the trouble codes I thought, that I understand, but what about the moniter status feature? It was an Actron CP-9135L scanner, and it has a feature call I\m moniter. It goes and checkes your sensors I think. When I'm parked it says my "Evap system" and "Catalyst" are "not ready" while all the other ones say "ready". The manual says that "not ready" means that the sensor is not working or not ready. What does this mean? Are these sensors only ready when driving? I dont know exactly what this feature does or the means. I have searched and only find trouble code stuff. Any help would be great.
thanks
I had a similar code with the evap system. I found the problem too.
There was a plastic tube that ran from the top of my intake manifold -passenger side -front, to a evap purge valve right behind my alternator. The tube broke in a spot that I couldn't see, and was not allowing the purge valve to operate properly and throw a ses code constantly. Replaced the plastic tube with a rubber vacuum hose, and the ses code went away.
Wow, I just replaced my FPR, and had to take the alternater off and disconnect that vaccum line your talking about off. maybe I broke it. Thanks,
your talking about the line that comes off the MAF (or MAP) housing on the manifold? Directly behind it is the vac line to the FPR.
I'll check that tommorow.
