• 3.4 bigger oil filter..

Idk if anyone has done some searching or tried it, but tonight i while i was bored at work i was looking for bigger oil filters for use on the 3.4

I'll go by delco numbers.
Stock pf47
A pf52 is the exact same thing, just longer.
Let you get a little more oil in the car.

Not a bad idea, but it will not offer any real gains. You could go with a decent filter like a FRAM or a Mobil 1. Also depending on which headers you use, you MIGHT run into clearance issues.

I can barely get my filter off b/c my pacesetters don't give enough room to rotate the oil wrench

I have pacesetters going on. You can barly get the stock size filter off?
I was gonna do this since i have a melling 20% increase volume going on, a little extra oil in engine with a bigger filter would so some good.

fram blows.. cut a fram filter and a wix filter in half.. you will never use a fram again..

as for the longer filter... dead weight

94Teal, with the new pump, you can still use the same filter. I would suggest adding a little more oil to the engine though than the recommended amount. When I was building my bottom end, I had my oil pan modified (deepened) in order to hold one more quart of oil for the high volume pump. The oil circulates so much more oil that you don't want the all of the oil to be sucked into the engine and not recirculated fast enough so the sump is dry. you could add about a half of a quart more and be safe.
