  • guess my hp for me.

I know we dont know for sure without doin a dyno but give me a # on what you think the Hp is for this build up. k&n filter= 10 hp, functional ws6 hood= 5hp, FRAM= 5hp, gutted & 1/2 inch raised stock air box= 8hp, with all of that, i would say about 28 hp but i could be wrong. im trying to figure out how much this might add above my stock rwhp which is 170. i've already completed all of the above mods what do you guys think.

K&N Filter is good for a MAX of 1-2hp
WS6 hood is good for 3-5hp
    FRAM is good for 1-2hp
Gutted/raised airbox is good for 3-5hp
I have the same mods except for the WS6 hood, but I have functional nostrils. Those mods are nowhere near 28hp. 10-15 tops.

I agree with devil boy as well, you are probably putting 180-185 to the wheels.

Is it true that GM underrates their motors? One of my friends (diehard chevy guy) said that GM usually underrates their motors by 10-20 horses, so if thats true we'd actually have 210-220. Not that it matters to him with his 454, but..

oh....Free Ram Air Mod...I was thinkin "how the fugg does this guy think he gets a power boost from an oil filter?!?!"

Id guess 175-180 RWHP, erring on the 175 side.

Also, FRAM and the WS6 hood...well Id think only one or the other would work.

What you need to do is get exhaust...then your K&N might see a few more horsepower. Get a real intake, and then maybe you'd dyno 185 or more

*K*night Rider i already have a exhaust set up, but thank you anyway. I just wanted to findout some Hp ratings on the mods i listed, when i started this topic. i already have the slp rockers arms comming and at the same time im working on a deal to get this cam off of this guy. along with that, a set of headers and a y pipe sounds nice as well. im moving up slowly ;)

Keep in mind if you have 18's or larger wheels you might loose 3-5 hp. I know I probably lost somewhere in that range with my wheels and tires. But the traction gained made up for it. Heh heh heh. :D Plus I don't take it to the track. Just cruise with my car. ;)

I would say maybe a 15 HP gain.
