• Oil Pressure Sensor?

so i go out to my car to go to work this morning and there is a puddle of oil under my car i was a little worried so i checked the level and it was one quart low put the quart in and checked everything with a scanner and there were no codes but the oil pressure was way low. i looked under the hood and there was oil shooting out from a sensor above the oil filter. would this be the Oil pressure sensor or what, i need to get my car up and running as i am having to borrow a car right now
thanks in advance for any help given>

Pressure sending unit yes...

Special socket to get off and on too...
The socket can be found at any parts stores.
just look in they tool sections.
Also the sensor will be around 15-25 depending on area.

I had the same problem. It is less than $20 at AutoZone. I used a normal open-ended wrench to get it off. Use teflon like was stated. It only takes a few minutes to replace.

The one that goes in the oil pan is the oil level switch. When the oil gets below the switch, it sends a signal to the instrument cluster to light up the "Oil Level" light. The one near the oil filter is the oil sending unit and send the oil pressure signal to the instrument cluster.

yep what he said...

You guys are lucky for some reason the 3 auto chanins near me didn't carry it or have any in stock anywhere near by, I had to wait like 3-4 days before I coudl get one. stupid autozone, advnaced auto, and pepboys, its a pretty common part you think they woudl have it.

My car was fast and furious style, I woudl pull up and white smoke come out from under my hood. on the sides, since I was spraying oil on to my exhaust

I was averaging a quart low every 70 miles

Here is the pic of the sensor for the 3.4
Its under the covering like thing..
Mine comes loose like every month, and my oil pressure acts funny, so i just tighten it up.
