  • Air Con bracket snapped in half

Our 3.8 L Air Con Bracket snapped in half, is this common?

  • #2
Not common at all. Any time I had something snap is when it wasn’t properly torqued and that was my steering pump that separated from the block and sheered the bolt off. I must have forgot to torque it down after my cam install and the vibration took it off.

I have never heard of someone having their air conditioner bracket snap as there is no stress in that area

I think the bracket was cracked and it finally snapped, I am in Australia and I can’t find one local, but I will be holidaying in the US next month, so if you know where I can get one in Orlando, Dallas, Albuquerque, Vegas, LA or Hawaii let me know.
      cheers Frank.

You could try salvage yards or even ebay, they should ship it to you for the right price. Good luck.
