  • Testing A/C

So my A/C decided that it would like to blow hot air today when it was a scorcher. The A/C has worked like a beauty up until now and I am fairly certain it was working when I drove the car about 1-2 weeks ago.

When I turn the HVAC switch on and off of the A/C modes I can only hear a minor hiss where as I used to hear a big one. I checked all fuses and everything appears ok. My guess is it must be a leak somewhere, but how can I start narrowing it down?

Anyone ever use this stuff to recharge your A/C? https://www.amazon.ca/Refrigerant-re...c+rech&sr=8-12

It seems cheap and says it is suitable for replacing ceing 12a and r134?

My A/C stopped working about a couple of months ago, small leak since it was charged 3 years ago. Stuff I bought says it fixes leaks when charged. Haven’t recharged it yet since I been thinking of installing the turbo and that makes me delete the A/C. Even though Amazon wouldn’t let me pull up the link I know what your talking about, mine was $40. I’d try it and see if it works.

Found out the leak is on condensor from the trans cooler I have sitting loosely against it. I need to sort that out soon. Move the trans cooler somewhere else and order in a new condenser...

Yeah hopefully it will work, deleting my A/C when the turbo goes on so I’d rather see it gets used.

Finally had a chance to look into this- I have been just non stop these past few days.

Looks like 1998-2002 v8 and v6 A/C condensers are the same and I think Steve your car is a 1997, so unfortunately it won’t work for me. Thanks though!
