need help finding a balancer and a replacement balancer bolt. im at a lost after confusing myself researching.

Yeah I couldn’t find one either, only for 95-97 , but I think the 98-02 are a shorter bolt, you should be able to reuse your balancer their all metal not like my 1996 which is rubber on the inside which dry rots and goes bad.

Why do you need to replace the balancer? 95-96 is p/n 12563267 - replaced with p/n 12563281 for 1997-2002, which does use a shorter bolt and is discontinued.

I installed the 97+ on my 96 years ago.

      95-96 on left - 97+ on right

Nice Robert, I forgot that it’s 1997 to 2002 that are the same. This is a sticky on the top of the threads also.

So I replaced my crank sensor and ****ed up my original one pulling it off wrong. The one I got off a Camaro at the scrap yard is wobbling bad. I have the one on the right and I just reused my bolt. So get the one on the left? And what about a bolt?

No you still use the one on the right. The bolts are TTY so you need a new bolt.

Looking around on the internet , you might be able to use a Grand Prix series 3 balancer and bolt, not the super charged one, the N/A one. It’s the one with the rubber on the inside and uses the longer bolt. Just from what I’ve read might be an option since I couldn’t find a new bolt. And if that’s the case then a Camaro 95-96 balancer and bolt could be used. Might need a case relearn on the computer. Maybe FirebirdGT will chime in and see if that is a option.

If a 97+ will work on my 96, a 95-96 will work on a 2001. Looks like GM standardized on the 95-96 version as it was also used on the FWD 3800's

That’s what I was thinking so OP use a 1996 balancer and bolt. Look up case relearn because you’ll probably need it. The dealer or anyone with a Tech 2 or Hptuners can do it.
